Hello friends! Our Contemplative Prayer Group meets once a month at First United Methodist Church in Lancaster, SC.

This group meets to engage in a variety of contemplative practices such as Lectio Divina, Visio Divina, Centering Prayer, Welcoming Prayer, developing Breath Prayers, Journaling, and other creative expressions of prayer. Silence is a companion to us in this circle!

Richard Rohr states, “contemplative prayer is a practice for a lifetime, never perfected yet always enough.” He also states, “contemplative practice gradually rewires our brains to perceive and respond to reality with love.”

…to respond with love! What an invitation. ❤️

If you are interested but undecided, I recommend attending at least once as a way to discern if this is something you would like to continue in.

Since we meet in the Parlor, away from the main entry, we especially want to make sure you can find us on your first visit. We also like to be prepared with materials we may use during our time together.
