About Marie

Hi! Welcome to our site.
My hope is that you will be refreshed, inspired, and encouraged to be (or rediscover) the YOU you are created to be. I’m simple with a rich, complex inner life that longs to be still, to be grounded, and to always begin again.
I grew up in a Pentecostal Faith
… but over the years, I have become more contemplative. It is rather hard to describe a Pentecostal-Contemplative, but there is an image in my garden that describes this type of person. It reads, “She has fire in her soul, and grace in her heart.” I think this is what I offer others… space, grace, and vibrancy of spirit (a fire that doesn’t consume but warms and stirs the hearts of others).

I offer spiritual care to people in my church, community, and beyond.
Before becoming a spiritual director, I began meeting with a spiritual director myself. It was during a season of deep longing for a God who was more than just active and moving forward. I needed a God who would invite me to stillness. My inner and outer worlds were conflicted. I did not have tools or words to describe what was happening inside of me. Honestly, my faith was maturing, and I needed a safe place to explore this uncharted territory. My spiritual director offered a compassionate, non-judgmental presence. It was and still is a space that is enriching, healing, and life-giving. During this time, my desire to offer true spiritual care to others on their spiritual journey increased. I began to notice that I wasn’t the only one who lacked the tools or words to describe their experience. I received training as a spiritual director from Center Quest School of Spiritual Direction, and in March 2022, I began offering direction or spiritual care to others.

Some know me as…
… a friend, a sister, a daughter, a cousin, an aunt, and a niece. These are special connections that I treasure deeply. These relationships challenge me in different ways and bring out some of the best parts of me.
Very few know me as wife and momma! My husband Kenneth and I have five children who we love and nurture dearly. It is through relationship with these kiddos and Kenneth that I longed to be a compassionate, non-judgmental listener and companion to both adults and children. They have been the ‘in-house’ clients who have challenged me most in training, in transformation, and caused me to know myself in ways I would have never explored. I am so grateful for each of these beautiful humans I get to do life with. Each addition to our family changes us just a bit and makes us grow in new ways. I am grateful to have a son-in-law and two grand-pups.
And let’s not forget about Bruno, my Yorkipoo. This incredible creature has forged, for me, new ways of seeing God in the world around me. His very interactions with myself and others give me a glimpse of God’s faithfulness and love that encompasses me every day.
